Leonel Umbruso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Gonsalvo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Genaro Gonsalvo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonel Umbruso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Gonsalvo in the 17th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Leon FC's Genaro Gonsalvo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonel Umbruso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Genaro Gonsalvo might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonel Umbruso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genaro Gonsalvo ran back to his position shaking his head. If Jeronimo Ioritz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonel Umbruso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Juvenal in the 33rd minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Leon FC got a freekick which was hit by Nemesio Locaio. In the 45th minute of the match Severino Bitxintxo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcelino Garci skillfully saved the ball. In the 45th match minute, Leon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Barrionuevo to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Sol was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Hibai in the 53rd minute of play forced Leon FC's goalkeeper Marcelino Garci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Umbruso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Juvenal in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Bajada FC booed when Leon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Sol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelino Garci showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Hibai, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Elvio Hibai took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelino Garci. Marcelino Garci dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Elvio Hibai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Marcelino Garci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Laureano Juvenal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Laureano Juvenal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonel Umbruso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elvio Hibai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Garci having to interfere. Leonel Umbruso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Sol's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Leon FC's Laureano Juvenal got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jeronimo Ioritz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the game, Bernardo Sol recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leonel Umbruso. Bernardo Sol showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Leon FC played a much better game than Bajada FC and deserved their victory. The Bajada FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
