Placido Frutos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Atletico Racing's 武鹏广 slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rodolfo Bembe. That made the score 2-0 after 46 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavio Umea to make the kick off. In the 60th play minute Claudio Leocadio came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Placido Frutos. 2-1. Rodolfo Bembe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 武鹏广 in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of C. S. y D. Santamarina booed when Club Atletico Racing was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Pacho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Joel Quexal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Quexal in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rodolfo Bembe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Flavio Umea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Placido Frutos made a huge save. Braulio Lastur's late challenge caught a Club Atletico Racing's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Lastur helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to C. S. y D. Santamarina getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Cirilo Nayely hit a great ball. Placido Frutos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavio Umea in the 95th minute of the match. Club Atletico Racing succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though C. S. y D. Santamarina had controlled the match.
