The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Vicente Loren suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Rufianes made a substitution. Celestino Bernad replaced Vicente Loren. 8 minutes into the match, Garayalde FC's goalkeeper Gerardo Artal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Paiva. In the 12th minute Federico Lauaxeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Txilar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Rufianes's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Javiero came free, but Benedicto Txilar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 14 in the game by Rui Paiva from a close distance when the talented Gerardo Artal managed to make a qualified save. Garayalde FC's players were relieved. When Benito Javiero was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 15 minutes had been played. A collision led to Garayalde FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Benito Javiero hit a great ball. Lazaro Infante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Gerardo Artal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rui Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Santiago Kaxen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26thth minute of the game Lazaro Infante who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Garayalde FC's Gerardo Artal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alonzo Matia's late challenge caught a Rufianes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alonzo Matia helped the player get up and apologised. After 30 played minutes Garayalde FC got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Matia. 31 minutes into the match, Garayalde FC's goalkeeper Gerardo Artal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Paiva. Gerardo Artal was a little too slow when Claudio Gonsalve got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 35th minute. The score was now 1-0. 45 minutes into the game, Rufianes's Rui Paiva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gerardo Artal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Santiago Kaxen's late challenge caught a Garayalde FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santiago Kaxen helped the player get up and apologised. Santiago Kaxen hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Benedicto Txilar acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Froilan Sanchez. If Federico Lauaxeta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Lauaxeta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Federico Lauaxeta hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Federico Lauaxeta struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Benedicto Txilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garayalde FC. 72 minutes into the game, Damian Inocente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garayalde FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rufianes the free kick. A collision led to Garayalde FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Damian Inocente hit a great ball. Froilan Sanchez hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute Rufianes were awarded a corner. Santiago Kaxen went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Lazaro Infante almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Garayalde FC's Gerardo Artal did a great save. In the 80th match minute, Garayalde FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Bela to maneuver through the defense. Benedicto Txilar made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Federico Lauaxeta sent off a good shot on target. Alonzo Matia hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. If Lazaro Infante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
