With a little luck, GIMNASIA Y TIRO DE SALTA's Santiago Dolcet got control of the ball when Fernan Pacho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ramon Ermengol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Omero having to interfere. If Mariano Gaskon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute of the match Salvador Txeru sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santiago Dolcet skillfully saved the ball. Fausto Barrionuevo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Santiago Dolcet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juvenal Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Omero having to interfere.

Huyamampa FC's Silverio Baleren got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobo Illart kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. After 56 played minutes, Huyamampa FC's Salvador Txeru shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Santiago Dolcet came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Huyamampa FC reached it. After 61 minutes, Eloy Benitez made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side.
