In the 20th minute Basilio Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Gaztea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Valguarnera A.C.F. booed when Luracatao FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Jago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valguarnera A.C.F.'s Eloy Gaztea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Mikeldi in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonel Farias in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eloy Gaztea saved Valguarnera A.C.F. from getting behind. In the 41st minute, Arnoldo Munio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Valguarnera A.C.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Vincent Perales had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmar Abechuco in the 46th minute of play forced Luracatao FC's goalkeeper Felipe Itzaina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vincent Perales stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Mikeldi in the 68th minute of play forced Valguarnera A.C.F.'s goalkeeper Eloy Gaztea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eloy Gaztea showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Eloy Gaztea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Mikeldi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Valguarnera A.C.F.'s Eloy Gaztea got control of the ball when Leonel Farias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonel Farias struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Eloy Gaztea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luracatao FC.
