The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Luzbelito FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. The audience was convinced that Inocencio Obano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Damian Chan was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. 5 minutes into the match, Godfredo Llorenc notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Luzbelito FC's Damian Chan. Damian Chan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Inocencio Obano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Argüello FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Obano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Chan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 14th minute, but Hector Gaztea got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Argüello FC hanging dry this time. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Argüello FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aaron Gregory was slow to take the kick. During this time Luzbelito FC's players had a chance to rest. Remigio Admon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Argüello FC's Godfredo Llorenc got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 minutes, Godfredo Llorenc made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Luzbelito FC's Damian Chan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 36 minutes into the match, Luzbelito FC's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Shepherd came free, but Damian Chan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Benitez kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Remigio Admon succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 45th playminute. After the first half Argüello FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Bernabe Lidon fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luzbelito FC's protests and gave Bernabe Lidon a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Argüello FC booed when Luzbelito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernabe Lidon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Godfredo Llorenc fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Damian Chan, passed just outside the right post. Elvio Erasto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remigio Admon struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Hector Gaztea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luzbelito FC. Hector Gaztea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remigio Admon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 played minutes Luzbelito FC got a freekick which was hit by Segundo Naelio. Argüello FC's Leonardo Venerando couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 70th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Luzbelito FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inocencio Obano got free with Damian Chan in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 76th minute, Elvio Erasto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hector Gaztea was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 80 minutes into the match, Luzbelito FC's goalkeeper Damian Chan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Inocencio Obano. Remigio Admon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Gaztea having to interfere. If Inocencio Obano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luzbelito FC's Damian Chan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godfredo Llorenc in the 91st minute of play.
