An unexpectedly hard shot by Erubiel Koldobika in the 7th minute of play forced Genius's goalkeeper Delmar Roderigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 9 minutes into the game, Hector Oliveiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Diadema AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Genius the free kick. The supporters of Diadema AFC booed when Genius was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Eguntsenti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erubiel Koldobika sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Genius's goalkeeper Delmar Roderigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Delmar Roderigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erubiel Koldobika, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Delmar Roderigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosme Natanael in the 28th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Cosme Natanael shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Roderigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delmar Roderigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erubiel Koldobika, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aquiles Monte kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Cosme Natanael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aquiles Monte to strike the kick off in the second half. Genius were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Diadema AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Americo Christobal took the corner. Genius's Americo Christobal was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Milio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Delmar Roderigo was a little too slow when Erubiel Koldobika got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 0-1. With an all-out effort, Diadema AFC's Delmar Roderigo threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Erubiel Koldobika, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A hard shot 73 in the game by Cosme Natanael from a close distance when the talented Delmar Roderigo managed to make a qualified save. Genius's players were relieved. Genius's Delmar Roderigo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Genius from getting a goal against them. When Americo Vincente fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Genius's protests and gave Americo Vincente a yellow card for diving instead. Americo Vincente kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. In the 93rd minute Erubiel Koldobika shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delmar Roderigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Diadema AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Diadema AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
