After a rather tough play, Ñacanguazú's Bernabe Goyo got a free kick in the 12th minute. Ñacanguazú's Claudio Galoer was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 15th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Cosme Chago put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mateo Cordearo. If Claudio Galoer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavio Otsoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Betadur having to interfere. Tiburcio Betadur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Galoer in the 33rd minute of the match. Mauricio Javiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateo Cordearo having to interfere. In the 38thth minute of the game Cosme Chago who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ñacanguazú's Mateo Cordearo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Esther's Tiburcio Betadur got control of the ball when Octavio Otsoa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Claudio Galoer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Betadur having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Mateo Cordearo made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Cosme Chago sent off a good shot on target. 55 minutes into the match, Esther's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Galoer came free, but Tiburcio Betadur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mateo Cordearo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauricio Javiar's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The supporters of Esther booed when Ñacanguazú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Marino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosme Chagos short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Mateo Cordearo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mauricio Javiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mateo Cordearo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauricio Javiar ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 77 minutes, Octavio Otsoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ñacanguazú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Octavio Otsoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Claudio Galoer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Tiburcio Betadur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Betadur was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Esther's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mauricio Javiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
