The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Danilo Llanos during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Danilo Llanos hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. A collision led to Dio FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Danilo Llanos hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Candelaria AFC's zone, Silvio Emeterio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulgencio Pero came out of the goal and Silvio Emeterio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florentino Eufrasio kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After having played for 17 minutes, Nereo Gabino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candelaria AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nereo Gabino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Candelaria AFC booed when Dio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Gaztea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isidoro Loco, 19 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Teodoro Eutor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicasio Gonzalez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Gabino in the 25th minute of the match. Teodoro Eutor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicasio Gonzalez having to make a save. Nicasio Gonzalez didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. In the 30th minute, Domingo Telo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodoro Eutor in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nicasio Gonzalez, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nicasio Gonzalez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Gabino in the 37th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Teodoro Eutor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nicasio Gonzalez was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Nicasio Gonzalez was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ladislao Clementi. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Braulio Joseph to make the kick off. Silvio Emeterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Fulgencio Pero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nereo Gabino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th match minute, Dio FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Fanuco to maneuver through the defense. Dio FC's Nicasio Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Gabino in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute Teodoro Eutor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicasio Gonzalez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Braulio Joseph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fulgencio Pero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Candelaria AFC's Ladislao Clementi got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Silvio Emeterio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Emeterio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Candelaria AFC's Teodoro Eutor got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Braulio Joseph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Candelaria AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
