Paraná's Everardo Rayman suffered a sore thigh after 4 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 4th minute of the game. One of Los Santos:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Paraná:s goal. In the 7th minute, the referee gave Paraná a penalty. Aureliano Moise looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Eustacio Solustiano. When Jairo Erramu fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraná's protests and gave Jairo Erramu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Los Santos booed when Paraná was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Erramu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes into the game, one of Los Santos:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 15 minutes, Paraná's Aureliano Moise got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eustacio Solustiano. A collision led to Paraná getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Aureliano Moise hit a great ball. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Santos's goalkeeper Eustacio Solustiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Filomeno Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavio Niguel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Frechoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Paraná's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Ourente came free, but Flavio Niguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 minutes, Jimeno Suarez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraná and the Los Santos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st match minute, Paraná was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Suarez to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Niguel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filomeno Frechoso in the 46th minute of the match. Edgard Ourente's late challenge caught a Paraná's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgard Ourente helped the player get up and apologised. After 48 played minutes Los Santos got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Ourente. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgard Ourente to strike the kick off in the second half. Filomeno Frechoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Flavio Niguel made a huge save. If Filomeno Frechoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Los Santos's Edgard Ourente in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paraná's goalie prevented a goal. Edgard Ourente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Niguel having to interfere. Filomeno Frechoso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Flavio Niguel managed to avoid a goal in the 91stth minute, when Los Santos's Filomeno Frechoso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Filomeno Frechoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Niguel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Los Santos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
