The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Venancio Onbera in the 3rd minute of play forced INTER's goalkeeper Arnoldo Faron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pascual Innocenzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacobo Sanchez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Faron having to interfere. Venancio Onbera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnoldo Faron having to interfere. Arnoldo Faron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Venancio Onbera in the 12th minute of play. Venancio Onbera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnoldo Faron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. After having played for 16 minutes, Venancio Onbera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Venancio Onbera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Jacobo Sanchez could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Arnoldo Faron however easily saved by the left post. Boca Juniors's Jacobo Sanchez got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejo Quexal charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alejo Quexal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of INTER booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Quexal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, INTER's Edgard Gaizko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcos Musko narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jacobo Sanchez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Arnoldo Faron made a huge save. Jacobo Sanchez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Arnoldo Faron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee ignored INTER's protests and gave Ignacio Gustau a yellow card for diving instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Venancio Onbera was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Venancio Onbera sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Arnoldo Faron narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Venancio Onbera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnoldo Faron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacobo Sanchez in the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Venancio Onbera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Onbera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnoldo Faron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 66 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Jacobo Sanchez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnoldo Faron was left in no man's land by his defense there! INTER's Arnoldo Faron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Onbera in the 76th minute of play. After some careless play in the INTER defense, Venancio Onbera kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnoldo Faron. The INTER fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnoldo Faron should have stopped the shot. Jacobo Sanchez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venancio Onbera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Arnoldo Faron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narciso Leoiar placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! There was no doubt that Boca Juniors were the better team. Boca Juniors's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
