Fátima's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Goito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Bernat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Sal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manuel Romo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejandro Distiratsu in the 13th minute. In the 19th minute Teodoro Goito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Bernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in East London United's zone, Fernando Sal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Bernat came out of the goal and Fernando Sal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Fernando Sal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Goito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Bernat having to interfere. Fernando Sal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jeremias Bernat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Jago struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Manuel Romo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for East London United. If Fernando Sal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Romo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Jago stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A very good chance for a goal. Manuel Romo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Distiratsu in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of Fátima booed when East London United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Gonsalve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeremias Bernat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Sal in the 91st minute of play. Arnulfo Opilano hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Teodoro Goito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Emiliano Garin fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored East London United's protests and gave Emiliano Garin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, East London United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Garin to maneuver through the defense. The East London United players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
