Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Teo Abeitia started the match with the kick off. Lucio Mattin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Saujil's Raimundo Estevez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Epifanio Lobo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Saujil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Santikurtz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucio Mattin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gaudencio Erramun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Leo Segio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velez Sarsfield's Lucio Mattin managed to work through Saujil's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Lucio Mattin dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 22 minutes into the match, Saujil's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Mattin came free, but Gaudencio Erramun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Leo Segio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Estevez charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raimundo Estevez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Raimundo Estevez kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Epifanio Lobo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Abeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 42 minutes into the match, Saujil's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Tartalo came free, but Gaudencio Erramun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Saujil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Segio to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Saujil's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Gonsalvo was slow to take the kick. During this time Velez Sarsfield's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Velez Sarsfield's corner Gustavo Gonsalvo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gaudencio Erramun quite easily take care of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Lucio Mattin struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Gaudencio Erramun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Velez Sarsfield. In the 58th match minute, Velez Sarsfield was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Mingo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Velez Sarsfield booed when Saujil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Bastiaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lino Tartalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Gaudencio Erramun made a huge save. Pablo Bastiaro's late challenge caught a Velez Sarsfield's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pablo Bastiaro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Saujil getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Pablo Bastiaro hit a great ball. Epifanio Lobo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teo Abeitia, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Epifanio Lobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Estevez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Estevez came free, but Epifanio Lobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaudencio Erramun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucio Mattin in the 82nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Mattin in the 84th minute of play forced Saujil's goalkeeper Gaudencio Erramun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Epifanio Lobo came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Saujil's Raimundo Estevez. But to his dismay, Raimundo Estevez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Lucio Mattin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gaudencio Erramun came out and tried to block the shot, but Lucio Mattin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 93rd minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
