Julio Roldanillo charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julio Roldanillo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of B.Franco booed when Achalco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Roldanillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Achalco's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Urre came free, but Oscar Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ivan Urre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Lopes having to interfere. Oscar Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Urre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iker Favila's late challenge caught a B.Franco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iker Favila helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Grabiel got free with Vinicio Jesco in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ivan Urre struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Oscar Lopes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for B.Franco. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Olivar was the one to do the kick off. When Nicolas Breogan fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored B.Franco's protests and gave Nicolas Breogan a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Augusto Isias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar Lopes was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Vinicio Jesco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Olivar in the 85th minute of the match. In the 87thth minute of the game Ivan Urre who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Achalco's Oscar Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ivan Urre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Oscar Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Achalco's zone, Augusto Isias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Lopes came out of the goal and Augusto Isias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Achalco succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though B.Franco had controlled the match.
