The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filiberto Iban during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Filiberto Iban hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Julio Batista charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Julio Batista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Julio Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Unai's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Micael read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Aguayo booed when Unión FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Mannie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Aguayo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Unión FC:s goal. The referee gave Unión FC a penalty, 15 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Augusto Macario, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Aguayo's Basilio Martino. 1-0. When Angelo Ieltxu fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Unión FC's protests and gave Angelo Ieltxu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th match minute, Unión FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Ieltxu to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the game, one of Unión FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Aguayo. Freddy Fertus stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Andres Micael. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Savion during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Victor Savion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gustavo Unai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guaberto Grabiel took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andres Micael. Unión FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelo Ieltxu got free with Basilio Martino in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Unai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Micael having to interfere. Andres Micael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Tonete in the 40th minute of the match. Basilio Martino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filiberto Iban, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andres Micael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Tonete in the 47th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Leonardo Tonete made the kick off in the second half. Angelo Ieltxu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Basilio Martino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo Unai blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andres Micael having to make a save. In the 57th match minute, Aguayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Savion to maneuver through the defense. If Angelo Ieltxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Aguayo's zone, Filiberto Iban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Martino came out of the goal and Filiberto Iban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lázaro Mannie might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Basilio Martino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lázaro Mannie ran back to his position shaking his head. Gustavo Unai came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Andres Micael could save by the left post. After having played for 89 minutes, Angelo Ieltxu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unión FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angelo Ieltxu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
