If Anacleto Acuña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Pudes in the 7th minute of play forced Gimnasia LP's goalkeeper Leonides Bordat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lisandro Perico came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Gimnasia LP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lisandro Perico couldn't finish the play. If Manuel Urtats had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Urtats in the 20th minute of play forced Mollar's goalkeeper Evelio Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Urtats sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonides Bordat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Pudes in the 28th minute of play. When Carlos Marin fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gimnasia LP's protests and gave Carlos Marin a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Marin hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Nemesio Theobald was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Lisandro Perico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mollar's Mauro Pudes got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Urtats to strike the kick off in the second half. Evelio Peruxu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Urtats's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Urtats in the 56th minute of play forced Mollar's goalkeeper Evelio Peruxu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mauro Pudes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Leonides Bordat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Gimnasia LP's Leonides Bordat got control of the ball when Mauro Pudes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mauro Pudes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Leonides Bordat made a huge save. After having played for 66 minutes, Lisandro Perico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gimnasia LP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Perico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 67th minute of the match Carlos Marin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Carlos Marin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Carlos Marin hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Gimnasia LP defense, Mauro Pudes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Bordat. The Gimnasia LP fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Bordat should have stopped the shot. If Angelino Ilixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mollar's zone, Lisandro Perico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evelio Peruxu came out of the goal and Lisandro Perico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evelio Peruxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lisandro Perico, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mollar had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
