The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Damian Caetano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th minute, C.A. Boca Juniors's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Edgardo Elivareo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Damian Caetano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Melchor Dantel made a huge save. Justo Toli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Reynaldo Gauargi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorio Sabin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melchor Dantel having to interfere. In the 38th minute BocaJrs were awarded a corner. Tomas Bernebe went to the cornerflag to take it. Melchor Dantel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Caetano in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Justo Toli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Reynaldo Gauargi was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The BocaJrs players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C.A. Boca Juniors were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Urbano Laurentzi made a kick off. In the 51st minute Honorio Sabin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melchor Dantel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to C.A. Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Feliciano Quentin hit a great ball. If Honorio Sabin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armando Ekain hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Melchor Dantel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Sabin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Justo Toli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. BocaJrs's Damian Caetano managed to work through C.A. Boca Juniors's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Damian Caetano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Damian Caetano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melchor Dantel having to interfere. Melchor Dantel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Honorio Sabin's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Reynaldo Gauargi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urbano Laurentzi in the 79th minute of play. Justo Toli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Gauargi having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Alfonso Licerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melchor Dantel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Sabin in the 92nd minute of play. Honorio Sabin kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C.A. Boca Juniors eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
