Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Neuquén FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Menendo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Placido Min kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Narciso Bernat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Narciso Bernat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Eutropio, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eriberto Urdaspal in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narciso Bernat saved San Lorenzo from getting behind. When Placido Min came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the San Lorenzo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Min couldn't finish the play. If Melquiades Neron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Placido Min's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Astor Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Neuquén FC's zone, Eusebio Orain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Astor Lopes came out of the goal and Eusebio Orain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jose Atarratze had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. San Lorenzo's Narciso Bernat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Urdaspal in the 46th minute of play. Eriberto Urdaspal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Narciso Bernat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Placido Min to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Emanuel Serapio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Bernat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th match minute, San Lorenzo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Min to maneuver through the defense. Melquiades Neron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Astor Lopes having to interfere. Narciso Bernat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Urdaspal, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Atarratze in the 66th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Narciso Bernat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Narciso Bernat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto Urdaspal in the 68th minute of play. Narciso Bernat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jose Atarratze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narciso Bernat was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Narciso Bernat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eriberto Urdaspal's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. The audience was convinced that Placido Min's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Astor Lopes was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 88th minute, Melquiades Neron fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Astor Lopes, passed just outside the right post. Placido Min recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 99 minutes into the game, Eriberto Urdaspal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Narciso Bernat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the San Lorenzo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Neuquén FC.
