Tiburcio Ibon hit a great ball. Silverio Maureo kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 16 minutes in the game, Amadeo Sagrario dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 18th match minute, Banfield F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilfredo Jobo to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Porvenir getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Silvio Maraman hit a great ball. Silverio Maureo, 23 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 33rd minute, Elvio Tirso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Maureo in the 34th minute of play forced Porvenir's goalkeeper Constantino Joanes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vladimiro Feo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Constantino Joanes having to interfere. When Silvano Guipuzkoa came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Banfield F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvano Guipuzkoa couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Porvenir got a freekick which was hit by Remigio Erlantz. Silvano Guipuzkoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Banfield F.C's Prudencio Bitxintxo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Banfield F.C from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amadeo Sagrario made a kick off. In the 55th minute, one of Porvenir:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Porvenir. When the match had been going on for 57 minutes, Banfield F.C's Silverio Maureo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Constantino Joanes. Prudencio Bitxintxo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeo Sagrario in the 61st minute of the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Fulgencio Chesus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Porvenir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulgencio Chesus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fulgencio Chesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prudencio Bitxintxo having to interfere. Elvio Tirso was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 77th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Vladimiro Feo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Constantino Joanes made a huge save. After having played for 86 minutes, Tiburcio Ibon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banfield F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tiburcio Ibon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vladimiro Feo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Silvano Guipuzkoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Banfield F.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Banfield F.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
