Abramo AFC's Abel Rios played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Atarrabi in the 27th minute of play. When Paulino Atarrabi came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Atletico Pichincha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Atarrabi couldn't finish the play. Abramo AFC's Jaime Cebo got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eustacio Ortzi hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Mariano Crispo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaime Cebo's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Jaime Cebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santos Tiso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Crispo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. If Santos Tiso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaime Cebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Mariano Crispo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Cebo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Atletico Pichincha's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Jaime Cebo scored to the left of an out of position Mariano Crispo, making the score, 0-6. Mariano Crispo didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 67th minute, which inside left pole to 0-7. In the 69th match minute, Atletico Pichincha was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Cordeal to maneuver through the defense. 71 minutes into the match, Abramo AFC's Jaime Cebo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Crispo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jaime Cebo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-8 to the left of a surprised Mariano Crispo 75 minutes into the match. The supporters of Abramo AFC booed when Atletico Pichincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Cordeal didn't get a good kick on the ball.
