In the 8th minute Geronimo Veto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteve Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Geronimo Veto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Esteve Machado. If Justino Naike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. Salame Tandilero FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newton the free kick. When Victorino Lugo came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Salame Tandilero FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victorino Lugo couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Geronimo Veto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Salame Tandilero FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Geronimo Veto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esteve Machado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leon Indar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Machado having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horacio Quintana to strike the kick off in the second half. Justino Naike was extremely unlucky when he, in the 55th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Newton's Esteve Machado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Veto in the 91st minute of play. Leon Indar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 95 minutes into the match, Newton's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Veto came free, but Esteve Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Salame Tandilero FC had played much better football throughout.
