Virgilio Cruz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Hanni in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute Jairo Jaen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, Crespo AFC's Francisco Hanni made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Virgilio Cruz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th minute of the match Dante Aires sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andres Domeka skillfully saved the ball. Jairo Jaen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Crespo AFC's Nicanor Larra got a free kick in the 34th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Matteo in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andres Domeka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Crespo AFC booed when Carrenleufú FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Tauro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvaro Eufemio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Hanni got free with Virgilio Cruz in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Jairo Jaen made the kick off in the second half. Cipriano Selatse hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute of the match Humberto Lucado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Cruz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Francisco Hanni might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Cruz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francisco Hanni ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of Carrenleufú FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Crespo AFC:s goal. The referee gave Crespo AFC a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Alvaro Eufemio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carrenleufú FC's Virgilio Cruz. 2-0. Virgilio Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Hanni, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. In the 84th minute, Edelmiro Raitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Carrenleufú FC's zone, Francisco Hanni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgilio Cruz came out of the goal and Francisco Hanni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andres Domeka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severo Tavio, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Carrenleufú FC's Rafael Matteo got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
