Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tiburcio Cuarto started the match with the kick off. When Mariano Gartzen fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ciénaga's protests and gave Mariano Gartzen a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd match minute, Ciénaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Gartzen to maneuver through the defense. During the 5th minute of the match Mariano Gartzen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Mariano Gartzen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Mariano Gartzen kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Tomas Lucila stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximino Acosta's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Ciénaga's Hugo Iigo got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiburcio Cuarto kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Ceferino Loramendi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palpalá FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Maximino Acosta came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Palpalá FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximino Acosta couldn't finish the play. Dante Ospetsu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomas Lucila. Ciénaga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ceferino Loramendi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Lucila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Loramendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Amadeo Chorache's late challenge caught a Palpalá FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeo Chorache helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ciénaga getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Amadeo Chorache hit a great ball. The supporters of Palpalá FC booed when Ciénaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Cuarto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Ciénaga's goal looked a bit too open when Maximino Acosta came free, but Tomas Lucila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. German Frederik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Cuarto in the 63rd minute of play. Tiburcio Cuarto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. German Frederik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ceferino Loramendi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomas Lucila having to make a save. Ceferino Loramendi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Tomas Lucila when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ceferino Loramendi got free with Tomas Lucila in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximino Acosta in the 77th minute of play forced Ciénaga's goalkeeper Tomas Lucila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th match minute, Palpalá FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Abeita to maneuver through the defense. German Frederik came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ciénaga's Tiburcio Cuarto. But to his dismay, Tiburcio Cuarto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 87 minutes, Gualterio Atarratze mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ciénaga and the Palpalá FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gualterio Atarratze hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Hugo Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ciénaga's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Iigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. German Frederik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Palpalá FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palpalá FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
