To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Delmiro Suarez came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Hipopó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delmiro Suarez couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Severiano Henrico came out of the goal and Enzo Egun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Luis Gorri came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Deportivo Granate fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Gorri couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Deportivo Granate getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Fabricio Llope hit a great ball. After having played for 79 minutes, Paulo Tipi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Granate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Tipi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hipopó's Damian Rufio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabricio Llope in the 86th minute of play. Delmiro Suarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Severiano Henrico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabricio Llope recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 96 played minutes Hipopó got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Egoitz. The Hipopó supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hipopó would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
