Leones's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perrugorría FC the free kick. A collision led to Leones getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Claudio Abeitia hit a great ball. Santo Leoncio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimeno Berto having to interfere. Tomás Carlomagno who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 12thth minute tested the skills of Jesus Isusko when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 15th minute of the match, Tomás Carlomagno got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jesus Isusko was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Benicio Eyague's late challenge caught a Perrugorría FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benicio Eyague helped the player get up and apologised. In the 18th minute Santo Leoncio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimeno Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Lartaun in the 20th minute of play forced Leones's goalkeeper Jimeno Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santo Leoncio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jimeno Berto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Carlomagno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leandro Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomás Carlomagno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jesus Isusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute of the match, Leandro Pereyra tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jesus Isusko saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Ismael Frasco fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perrugorría FC's protests and gave Ismael Frasco a yellow card for diving instead. Leandro Pereyra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesus Isusko having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Prospero Pes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Perrugorría FC's Jesus Isusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Pereyra in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Arnulfo Lartaun notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Leones's Jimeno Berto. Jimeno Berto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Leones players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Perrugorría FC were winning 0-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leandro Pereyra to make the kick off. Jimeno Berto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnulfo Lartaun in the 56th minute. Santo Leoncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Perrugorría FC's Santo Leoncio in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leones's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Perrugorría FC's zone, Tomás Carlomagno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Isusko came out of the goal and Tomás Carlomagno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jesus Isusko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Carlomagno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santo Leoncio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Jimeno Berto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santo Leoncio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leones's Tomás Carlomagno got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Perrugorría FC's zone, Leandro Pereyra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Isusko came out of the goal and Leandro Pereyra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcos Vedillo kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Leandro Pereyra charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leandro Pereyra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Perrugorría FC booed when Leones was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Pereyra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes in the game, Santo Leoncio fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Jimeno Berto having to interfere. After having played for 91 minutes, Leandro Pereyra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leandro Pereyra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leones's Tomás Carlomagno got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Perrugorría FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Perrugorría FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
