Norberto Fe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Victorino Acuña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Salvador Matia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th match minute, Mashina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Neto to maneuver through the defense. Victorino Acuña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Ramon Erauso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Thea reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Neto in the 40th minute of play forced Thea's goalkeeper Augusto Rocendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Thea booed when Mashina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mashina's zone, Anibal Cebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramon Erauso came out of the goal and Anibal Cebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jairo Neto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
