Valentin Medardo charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Emiliano Firmin didn't quite understand what happened when in the 61 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Sergio Osorio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Donostia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 67th minute. Cachiñal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The tension between the Girardet and the Cachiñal players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Girardet got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Benino.
