Paulo Hodei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 9 played minutes C. A. Velez Sarsfield got a freekick which was hit by Amancio Vitin. Perrugorría FC's Manuel Lobo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 10th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for C. A. Velez Sarsfield. Amancio Vitin's late challenge caught a Perrugorría FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amancio Vitin helped the player get up and apologised. Lorenzo Faron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Hodei having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Perrugorría FC got a freekick which was hit by Santo Muno. In the 25th minute, Amancio Vitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Apolo Honrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baldomero Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Baldomero Ishmael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Apolo Honrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulo Hodei was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lorenzo Faron showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 34 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Amancio Vitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luciano Kiliz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Apolo Honrio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lorenzo Faron stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Victorio Orlandus seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Victorio Orlandus the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C. A. Velez Sarsfield protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Victorio Orlandus had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 53rd minute, one of C. A. Velez Sarsfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for C. A. Velez Sarsfield. Paulo Hodei went to the wrong direction when Manuel Lobo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Cosme Emesto's late challenge caught a Perrugorría FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cosme Emesto helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Faron in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulo Hodei saved C. A. Velez Sarsfield from getting behind. Paulo Hodei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lorenzo Faron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 79 minutes into the game, Sergio Eusko was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perrugorría FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Velez Sarsfield the free kick. In the 79th minute, Sergio Eusko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luciano Kiliz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Hodei showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Tristan in the 88th minute of the match. Paulo Hodei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 97 minutes into the game, Cecilio Mosen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Perrugorría FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Velez Sarsfield the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rigoberto Frichoso got free with Apolo Honrio in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Perrugorría FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. A. Velez Sarsfield had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
