After 18 played minutes Aquiles Mikelar rounded Cachiyuyo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cachiyuyo's goalkeeper Matias Ayala, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Benicio Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erasmo Mannuel struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Claudio Gaztea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cachiyuyo. After 30 played minutes F.C. Trejos 10 got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Bernaldo. Matias Ayala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruben Ledesma in the 33rd minute. Aquiles Mikelar did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Matias Ayala 37 minutes into the match. Matias Ayala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Mikelar, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Ruben Ledesma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Matias Ayala made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Aquiles Mikelar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Matias Ayala was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aquiles Mikelar in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Matias Ayala saved Cachiyuyo from getting behind. When Benicio Pio fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cachiyuyo's protests and gave Benicio Pio a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cachiyuyo's zone, Ruben Ledesma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matias Ayala came out of the goal and Ruben Ledesma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aquiles Mikelar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
