Eusebio Nevada stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marco Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Marco Azevedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eusebio Nevada came out and tried to block the shot, but Marco Azevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 19th minute. Luciano Heriberto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Millonarios getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Felipe Galeno hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Millonarios's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Gilabert came free, but Justino Cordero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 29th play minute Segundo Isidor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Eusebio Nevada. 2-0. After 36 played minutes Magdalena got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Pepillo. The corner led Millonarios's Felipe Galeno to fire away a dangerous shot which Eusebio Nevada despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 46 played minutes Magdalena got a freekick which was hit by Lino Oto. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marco Azevedo made a kick off. Justino Cordero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luciano Heriberto in the 55th minute. After 56 played minutes Millonarios got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Rexino. Eulalio Cordarrel didn't quite understand what happened when in the 83 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Eusebio Nevada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Isidor in the 86th minute of the match. 2-1 became the score in the 90th minute when Luciano Heriberto elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
