Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) In a very dangerous position, a player in Villarreal FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! The supporters of Jáuregui AFC booed when Villarreal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolfo Rioja didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute Arturo Eguntsenti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Christobal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jáuregui AFC's Ovidio Ibañez in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Villarreal FC's goalie prevented a goal. Arturo Eguntsenti might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian Christobal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arturo Eguntsenti ran back to his position shaking his head. 22 minutes into the match, Villarreal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ovidio Ibañez came free, but Julian Christobal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Jáuregui AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Villarreal FC:s goal. After a rather tough play, Villarreal FC's Baldomiro Foro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 36 minutes, Ovidio Ibañez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jáuregui AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidio Ibañez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julian Christobal came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Jáuregui AFC's Arturo Eguntsenti. But to his dismay, Arturo Eguntsenti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Siro Jatsu was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Adrian Abalos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villarreal FC and the Jáuregui AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Villarreal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Abalos to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Eguntsenti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian Christobal having to interfere. If Juan Ramone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Jáuregui AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Siro Jatsu came free, but Lázaro Lidon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, Arturo Eguntsenti fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Julian Christobal, passed just outside the right post. In the 71st minute, Ovidio Ibañez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ovidio Ibañez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julian Christobal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Jáuregui AFC's Lázaro Lidon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Victoro in the 80th minute of play. If Arturo Eguntsenti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes Villarreal FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Laurgain. The Jáuregui AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Jáuregui AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
