Unzué's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ovidio Sanson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ovidio Sanson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Humberto Kiliz made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Unzué's Saul Gaueko got a free kick in the 9th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Unzué's zone, Ovidio Sanson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Humberto Kiliz came out of the goal and Ovidio Sanson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Generoso Demesio in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aureliano Claude saved Patriotas del Cerro from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Sanson got free with Humberto Kiliz in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidio Sanson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Humberto Kiliz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Generoso Demesio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureliano Claude having to interfere. In the 28th minute, Ovidio Sanson made a precise shot to the right of Humberto Kiliz. Unzué's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Humberto Kiliz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erasmo Beliran in the 32nd minute of the match. Erasmo Beliran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ovidio Sanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erasmo Beliran in the 39th minute of play forced Unzué's goalkeeper Humberto Kiliz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristian Estefan to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute Erasmo Beliran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Kiliz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Unzué's goalkeeper Humberto Kiliz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Erasmo Beliran came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Patriotas del Cerro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erasmo Beliran couldn't finish the play. If Ovidio Sanson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudio Rios hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Patriotas del Cerro's Aureliano Claude got control of the ball when Cristian Estefan tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Patriotas del Cerro getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Zacarias Pitin hit a great ball. 93 minutes into the match, Patriotas del Cerro's goalkeeper Aureliano Claude had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Generoso Demesio. Humberto Kiliz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Beliran in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Unzué players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Patriotas del Cerro.
