To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the match, Celso Matthew had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicanor Santos. Whisky FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Matthew was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Clemente Gilens short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Cornelio Playo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Augusto Dei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Playo having to interfere. After having played for 69 minutes, Augusto Dei managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Whisky FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Dei was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the game, Celso Matthew was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zelaya's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Whisky FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Zelaya's Celso Matthew got a free kick in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Whisky FC's Augusto Dei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cornelio Playo narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
