Javier Beliran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Aimar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Emilio Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Beliran didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Aimar went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 23 minutes into the match, Chipaté FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Sol came free, but Javier Beliran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Aimar in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Javier Beliran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 30 minutes into the game, one of Chipaté FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Matyvelez F.C.. Tomas Gonsalve stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Javier Beliran. 0-2. Tomas Gonsalve took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Javier Beliran. Chipaté FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Javier Beliran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Sol in the 47th minute of play. The Chipaté FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Matyvelez F.C. were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benito Aimar to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Pastor Alfonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chipaté FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pastor Alfonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ceferino Orkatz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Aimar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chipaté FC's Pastor Alfonso got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Javier Beliran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matyvelez F.C.'s goalkeeper Ceferino Orkatz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Emilio Aimar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Matyvelez F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Emilio Aimar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Javier Beliran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute of the match Chipaté FC got a corner. Matyvelez F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruperto Boni ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Albino Mel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Matyvelez F.C.'s Ceferino Orkatz did a great save. If Benito Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Elija's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Javier Beliran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Chipaté FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Sol came free, but Javier Beliran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matyvelez F.C.'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
