Fausto Bonadona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melchor Benitez in the 10th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Eugenio Berriotxoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manuel Eufrasio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Fausto Bonadona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Penca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Txema to maneuver through the defense. When Jimeno Txema fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penca's protests and gave Jimeno Txema a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th minute of the match Marco Aimar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fausto Bonadona skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Benitez in the 25th minute of play forced Penca's goalkeeper Fausto Bonadona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th minute Manuel Eufrasio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Bonadona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Penca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Txema to maneuver through the defense. Melchor Benitez took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto Bonadona. Fausto Bonadona dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 30th minute Manuel Eufrasio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Bonadona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Bonadona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melchor Benitez in the 32nd minute of the match. Fausto Bonadona took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Eufrasio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inocencio Abella sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Melchor Benitez was the one to do the kick off. If Manuel Eufrasio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Penca's Saturnino Ebardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Vasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penca's goalkeeper Fausto Bonadona, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Berriotxoa in the 66th minute of play forced BocaJuniors's goalkeeper Angelo Vasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angelo Vasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Inocencio Abella, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Sixto Calisto hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. BocaJuniors's Manuel Eufrasio suffered a concussion after 78 minutes and had to leave the field. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, BocaJuniors's Marco Aimar got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Fausto Bonadona. BocaJuniors's Angelo Vasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inocencio Abella in the 85th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Penca's Inocencio Abella sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Vasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Inocencio Abella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BocaJuniors's Angelo Vasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Berriotxoa in the 89th minute of play. If Eugenio Berriotxoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Penca getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Sixto Calisto hit a great ball. Fausto Bonadona acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 98th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Marco Aimar. The Penca supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching BocaJuniors's performance. The match ended with a win for BocaJuniors.
