Tomas Sanduru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tomas Sanduru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Brun in the 23rd minute of play. Evaristo Escobar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Sanduru having to interfere. Tomas Sanduru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Brun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Sanduru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Brun's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Danilo Huly's late challenge caught a Telén's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Huly helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Telén booed when Papagayos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Huly didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gilberto Brun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Papagayos FC's zone, Gilberto Brun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tomas Sanduru came out of the goal and Gilberto Brun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evaristo Escobar scored 0-2 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Sanduru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilberto Brun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Evaristo Escobar scored 0-3 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Sanduru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Telén's Andres Aztore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Balesio in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Papagayos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Brun came free, but Tomas Sanduru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gilberto Brun came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Telén fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Brun couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Telén left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Papagayos FC.
