The referee showed Narciso Gilen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bremen's Narciso Gilen got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmitas's goalkeeper Marcial Gaueko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcial Gaueko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Lizbeth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Patricio Abar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Abar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Senon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the game, Teofilo Jaunzuria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marcial Gaueko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Lizbeth, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Andres Handi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tomás Senon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The supporters of Palmitas booed when Bremen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Burutzagi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute Andres Handi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomás Senon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Abar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomás Senon having to make a save. If Patricio Abar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Andres Handi came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Palmitas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Handi couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Patricio Abar managed to get in a good position for a shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Abar in the 69th minute of play forced Bremen's goalkeeper Tomás Senon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Palmitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Andres Handi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Senon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, Palmitas's goalkeeper Marcial Gaueko had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dario Lizbeth. Dario Lizbeth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcial Gaueko having to interfere. Mariano Caetano struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Tomás Senon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmitas. Dario Lizbeth came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcial Gaueko could save by the left post. When Palmitas's Andres Handi in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bremen's goalie prevented a goal. Palmitas's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
