Gerardo Rolado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Ipar having to interfere. A collision led to Morenillo AFC getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Guido Lander hit a great ball. Godfredo Quexal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alfredo Ipar came out and tried to block the shot, but Godfredo Quexal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 6th minute. Gerardo Rolado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerardo Rolado's late challenge caught a Morenillo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Rolado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ayajasco FC's Gerardo Rolado got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ayajasco FC's Jairo Froila couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 12th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Morenillo AFC. If Gerardo Rolado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Godfredo Quexal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Ipar having to interfere. Bartolo Vergaray hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Godfredo Quexal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Alfredo Ipar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Isidro Merexildo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Morenillo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ayajasco FC the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Morenillo AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Merexildo to maneuver through the defense. Guido Lander kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Gerardo Rolado was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 27th minute. Ayajasco FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Godfredo Quexal came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Ayajasco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Quexal couldn't finish the play. Marcos Fernado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Godfredo Quexal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Marcelo Vela came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Morenillo AFC fans jumped to their feet. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Vela in the 65th minute of play forced Ayajasco FC's goalkeeper Arnulfo Vasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Ayajasco FC's Godfredo Quexal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfredo Ipar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Vergaray charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bartolo Vergaray the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ayajasco FC booed when Morenillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Vergaray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnulfo Vasco came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Morenillo AFC's Marcelo Vela. But to his dismay, Marcelo Vela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ayajasco FC's Jairo Froila got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 92nd minute, Morenillo AFC's Marcelo Vela ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnulfo Vasco. Arnulfo Vasco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Arnulfo Vasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Vela in the 97th minute of play. The Morenillo AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Morenillo AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
