Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Arenaza's Marcelino Dubardo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Alejo Lander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goicó FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejo Lander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Arenaza's Candido Artal got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute Diego Matthew shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Salvatore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ildefonso Salvatore showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Matthew in the 9th minute of the match. Ildefonso Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Melchor Eliu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Arenaza's Marcelino Dubardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cleto Nazario narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ildefonso Vermudo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The attack was good, but when Marcelino Dubardo in the 21st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Diego Matthew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ildefonso Salvatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melchor Eliu in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ildefonso Salvatore prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Diego Matthew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ildefonso Salvatore having to interfere. If Diego Matthew had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Diego Matthew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Matthew received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ildefonso Salvatore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ildefonso Vermudo got free with Cleto Nazario in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Melchor Eliu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ildefonso Salvatore having to make a save.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diego Matthew to strike the kick off in the second half. Arenaza's Ildefonso Vermudo got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauricio Felipillo hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Goicó FC's Sergio Lehoi broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ildefonso Salvatore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Matthew, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute, Marcelino Dubardo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arenaza fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Cleto Nazario made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Dubardo in the 95th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Ildefonso Vermudo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arenaza's supporters rose to their feet, but Ildefonso Vermudo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cleto Nazario breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arenaza's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
