After 17 minutes, Pascual Ferrando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liniers and the Iruya AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Liniers got a freekick which was hit by Pascual Ferrando. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Liniers's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dimo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruno Pitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Ihazintu in the 22nd minute of the match. Marcelino Demesio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Iruya AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Cordarrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Dimo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 40 minutes into the match, Liniers's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Domiku came free, but Leopoldo Dimo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Melquiades Ihazintu made a kick off. If Esteban Domiku had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liniers's Leopoldo Dimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteban Domiku in the 55th minute of play. Esteban Domiku might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leopoldo Dimo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esteban Domiku ran back to his position shaking his head. Esteban Domiku hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Esteban Domiku sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Domiku fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dimo having to interfere. Celso Cordarrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dimo having to interfere.
