In the 9th minute of the match, Honorio Fortun got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alonzo Ponce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 14th match minute, Atletico Juventud FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Abarca to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the game, Gualterio Eguzki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Santa Fe FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Juventud FC the free kick. Gualterio Eguzki kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th play minute Honorio Fortun came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Alonzo Ponce. 2-0. The audience was convinced that Ciro Goito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alonzo Ponce was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22nd match minute, Santa Fe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Llope to maneuver through the defense. 25 minutes into the match, Atletico Juventud FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulino Luzaide came free, but Hermengildo Beila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 played minutes Atletico Juventud FC got a freekick which was hit by Roque Loreto. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rene Hegoi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Fe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rene Hegoi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hermengildo Beila breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the game, Eugenio Celino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alonzo Ponce. Eugenio Celino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. Rene Hegoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermengildo Beila having to make a save. Ildefonso Bazil's late challenge caught a Santa Fe FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ildefonso Bazil helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santa Fe FC booed when Atletico Juventud FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Bazil didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 44 minutes, Tiburcio Mateo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Juventud FC and the Santa Fe FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Atletico Juventud FC got a freekick which was hit by Tiburcio Mateo. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atletico Juventud FC! In the 49th minute there was a penalty for Santa Fe FC. Segundo Llope stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hermengildo Beila. 3-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

In the 96th minute, Honorio Fortun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roque Loreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alonzo Ponce having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atletico Juventud FC had won after a very even match.
