Ramon Rik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Hermelando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the game, Alfonso Hermelando lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Ramon Rik. Angelino Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Rik having to interfere. Ramon Rik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Haroldo Cordero in the 10th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso Hermelando in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Rik prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Angelino Ramos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eustaquio Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Txanton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th match minute, Gorostiaga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Romero to maneuver through the defense. Julio Txanton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustaquio Domingues having to interfere. Eustaquio Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Darien in the 20th minute of the match. When Alfonso Hermelando came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Gorostiaga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso Hermelando couldn't finish the play. Damaso Otsando hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Deportivo León's Ramon Rik proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo León from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Gorostiaga's Haroldo Cordero ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ramon Rik. Ramon Rik yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 38 minutes into the match, Deportivo León's goalkeeper Ramon Rik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelino Donostia. Jeronimo Normando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ramon Rik tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelino Donostia struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Ramon Rik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorostiaga. Abelardo Azevedo's late challenge caught a Gorostiaga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abelardo Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Gorostiaga booed when Deportivo León was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 44 played minutes, Gorostiaga's Guillermo Mel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ramon Rik came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gorostiaga reached it. 45 minutes into the match, Gorostiaga's Jeronimo Normando sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramon Rik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfonso Hermelando recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfonso Hermelando to strike the kick off in the second half. Ramon Rik came out of the goal and Alfonso Hermelando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 62nd play minutes Angelino Donostia shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Ramon Rik and just under the crossbar into goal. 66 minutes into the match, Deportivo León's goal looked a bit too open when Angelino Ramos came free, but Ramon Rik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Haroldo Cordero notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Deportivo León's Ramon Rik. Ramon Rik was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfonso Hermelando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 74th play minutes Alfonso Hermelando shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Ramon Rik and just under the crossbar into goal. After some careless play in the Deportivo León defense, Jeronimo Normando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramon Rik. The Deportivo León fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramon Rik should have stopped the shot. In the 82nd minute Alfonso Hermelando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Rik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Darien's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustaquio Domingues read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. After 85 minutes, Haroldo Cordero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gorostiaga and the Deportivo León players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gorostiaga's Haroldo Cordero got a free kick in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Abelardo Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eustaquio Domingues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Deportivo León was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damian Enaut to maneuver through the defense. Alfonso Hermelando struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Ramon Rik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorostiaga. If Angelino Donostia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gorostiaga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
