Gregorio Menendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Basajaun, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Vinicio Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Maura having to interfere. In the 36th minute Amancio Basajaun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Menendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 played minutes Ave Fénix FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Garin. Alfonso Lia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Severo Maura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everardo Mano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Severo Maura made a huge save. In the 42nd minute, Silvano Leocadio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Everardo Mano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alicante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Everardo Mano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severo Maura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

If Alfonso Lia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Hermelando hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Ave Fénix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Gorri came free, but Severo Maura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Alicante FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Aurelio Hug hit a great ball. Severo Maura didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfonso Lia went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 72 minutes into the match, Ave Fénix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Everardo Mano came free, but Severo Maura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Everardo Mano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alicante FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Benito Ramone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnoldo Garin hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that Alicante FC were the better team. Alicante FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
