Marciano Jerardo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roque Rocio in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute, Angelo Txerran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Millo Parana defense, Eleuterio Erasto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Corderall. The Millo Parana fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Corderall should have stopped the shot. 18 minutes into the match, Millo Parana's goal looked a bit too open when Cirilo Gutierrez came free, but Dante Corderall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cirilo Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Corderall having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Jimeno Lehoi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Millo Parana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gimnasia y Esgrima de J. the free kick. In the 23rd minute, Jimeno Lehoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emiliano Salvator charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emiliano Salvator the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Millo Parana booed when Gimnasia y Esgrima de J. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emiliano Salvator didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Gutierrez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Dante Corderall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Santo Tavio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roque Rocio was extremely unlucky when he, in the 42nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a little luck, Gimnasia y Esgrima de J.'s Marciano Jerardo got control of the ball when Roque Rocio tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Gimnasia y Esgrima de J. were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Eleuterio Erasto got free with Dante Corderall in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Rocio in the 63rd minute of play forced Gimnasia y Esgrima de J.'s goalkeeper Marciano Jerardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Corderall made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Eleuterio Erasto sent off a good shot on target. Gimnasia y Esgrima de J.'s Rene Karmel was substituted for Virgilio Emeterio. A hard shot 82 in the game by Cirilo Gutierrez from a close distance when the talented Dante Corderall managed to make a qualified save. Millo Parana's players were relieved. 92 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Esgrima de J.'s goal looked a bit too open when Santo Tavio came free, but Marciano Jerardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marciano Jerardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Rocio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
