Gino Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Iker Ugutz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Iker Ugutz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gino Santana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gino Santana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aquilino Oso in the 6th minute of play. In the 10thth minute of the game Aquilino Oso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pico Fútbol Club's Gino Santana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edgardo Rivero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Hector Odol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Independiente's Iker Ugutz in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pico Fútbol Club's goalie prevented a goal. 21 minutes into the match, Independiente's Igor Sal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gino Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Iker Ugutz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gino Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aquilino Oso in the 24th minute of the match. Apolo Arnalt hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquilino Oso in the 31st minute of play forced Pico Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Gino Santana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apolo Arnalt charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Apolo Arnalt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Independiente booed when Pico Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Arnalt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner led Independiente's Emiliano Petri to fire away a dangerous shot which Gino Santana despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alvaro Iztal took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hector Odol. Hector Odol dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Iker Ugutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Santana having to interfere. If Iker Ugutz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th minute, Igor Sal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Emiliano Petri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Pico Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ubaldo Corderro came free, but Gino Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After having played for 60 minutes, Emiliano Petri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Petri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Gino Santana managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Independiente's Aquilino Oso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Iker Ugutz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Independiente's Igor Sal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gino Santana. That made the score 1-1 after 68 minutes of play. Hector Odol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Frasco in the 76th minute of the match. Gino Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Petri, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Ezequiel Libertad hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the game, Independiente's Aquilino Oso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gino Santana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Gino Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Oso in the 91st minute. If Emiliano Petri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the game, Niceto Natanael recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gino Santana. Niceto Natanael showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Independiente left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pico Fútbol Club.
