Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernán Crespin to make the kick off. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Estevez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deportivo Libanés's Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Libanés from getting a goal against them. Pascual Burni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernán Crespin, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. If Ricardo-Enrique Branca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Deportivo Libanés getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Hernán Crespin hit a great ball. Ramiro Estevez struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Billinghurst. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Libanés's zone, Robustiano Fiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya came out of the goal and Robustiano Fiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 minutes, Arsenio Cordairo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Billinghurst and the Deportivo Libanés players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Deportivo Libanés booed when Billinghurst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Lluques didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 95th minute, Hernán Crespin made a precise shot to the right of Pascual Burni. Billinghurst's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportivo Libanés fans cheered their team off the field, for while Billinghurst had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
