An unexpectedly hard shot by Serafin Loreto in the 23rd minute of play forced Saavedra FC's goalkeeper Apolo Cutberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domínguez's Froilan Gil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Bonadona in the 29th minute of play. Froilan Gil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Guib in the 30th minute. In the 32nd minute Emiliano Gipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Gil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domínguez's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Paulo Guib scored to the left of an out of position Froilan Gil, making the score, 1-0. Froilan Gil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angel Bonadona's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. When Andres Videl came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Saavedra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Videl couldn't finish the play. Andres Videl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Froilan Gil having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Venancio Salamon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Angel Bonadona in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froilan Gil saved Domínguez from getting behind. Jairo Casado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Froilan Gil. Domínguez's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 59th minute Andres Videl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Gil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Saavedra FC's Andres Videl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Froilan Gil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Froilan Gil prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
