Faustino Roldan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Cordaro having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Humberto Henrico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matias Jobo charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matias Jobo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of River Plate booed when Instituto ACC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Jobo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Laureano Mero hit a great ball. Javier Aguilera came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Marcelino Santos. But to his dismay, Marcelino Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Instituto ACC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelino Santos came free, but Javier Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Instituto ACC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Godfredo Ilazki hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute, Godfredo Ilazki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Matias Jobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matias Jobos short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Maximino Cordaro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matias Jobo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Instituto ACC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Inocencio Barto hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Santos got free with Javier Aguilera in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Laureano Mero took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Javier Aguilera to make any attempt to save it. The throw-in from Desiderio Panpili in the 61st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by River Plate's Fabian Nisio. After 62 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Tartalo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Jobo in the 63rd minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Maximino Cordaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faustino Roldan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximino Cordaro having to interfere. Isaias Cisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Aguilera came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Marcelino Santos. But to his dismay, Marcelino Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Laureano Mero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Aguilera having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Damian Larra dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Javier Aguilera, 0-4. After having played for 82 minutes, Marcelino Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matias Jobo was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Instituto ACC's Matias Jobo got a free kick in the 89th minute. Maximino Cordaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaias Cisco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. River Plate walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
