Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lázaro Cerilo in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Patricio Filipo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 18 minutes, Rigoberto Chumo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the TIBURON and the Zorros del Desierto players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to TIBURON getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Rigoberto Chumo hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jorge Anaya sped through TIBURON's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luis Lia. The TIBURON fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when TIBURON's Lázaro Cerilo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 31 minutes into the match, TIBURON's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Darien came free, but Luis Lia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Anaya fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Lia having to interfere. Lázaro Cerilo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Patricio Filipo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 47th match minute, TIBURON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonas Ixaka to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 53rd minute of the match TIBURON got a corner. Zorros del Desierto's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pastor Iaki ran over to the corner to take the kick. TIBURON's Pastor Iaki was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Patricio Filipo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When TIBURON's Lázaro Cerilo in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Cerilo in the 76th minute of play forced Zorros del Desierto's goalkeeper Patricio Filipo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 78th minute of the game. One of TIBURON:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zorros del Desierto:s goal. After 81 played minutes Zorros del Desierto got a freekick which was hit by Fulgencio Frasquito. A collision led to Zorros del Desierto getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Samuel Darien hit a great ball. When Bartolo Lazcano fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TIBURON's protests and gave Bartolo Lazcano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, TIBURON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartolo Lazcano to maneuver through the defense.
