Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 5th minute Gilberto Olando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Dodorol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th minute, Victor Caton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Niceto Gervaso kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Vicente Gonzo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Dodorol. If Vicente Gonzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Victor Caton came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Alumni Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Caton couldn't finish the play. Gustavo Dodorol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Caton, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Nereo Naelio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustavo Dodorol. Arrutó's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nereo Naelio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gustavo Dodorol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Naelio in the 26th minute of play. Gustavo Dodorol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Gonzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 36th match minute, Arrutó was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateo Maore to maneuver through the defense. Alumni Fc's Gilberto Olando got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 39 minutes, Victor Caton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alumni Fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Caton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Dodorol didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Caton went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. If Israel Egoitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Dodorol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Egoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Naelio in the 47th minute of play forced Arrutó's goalkeeper Gustavo Dodorol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Alumni Fc were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wilfredo Araoz made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Israel Egoitz got free with Gustavo Dodorol in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Dodorol made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Vicente Gonzo sent off a good shot on target. 57 minutes into the match, Alumni Fc's Israel Egoitz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Dodorol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Arrutó's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Caton came free, but Gustavo Dodorol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Caton struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Gustavo Dodorol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alumni Fc. The Alumni Fc fans' excitement grew in the 67th match minute when Alumni Fc's Vicente Gonzo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Arrutó getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Mateo Maore hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arturo Ramone during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alumni Fc were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Arrutó's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Victor Caton took the corner. Victor Caton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Arrutó's goalkeeper Gustavo Dodorol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Gonzo. In the 85th minute of the match, Victor Caton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gustavo Dodorol saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Israel Egoitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Dodorol was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Gustavo Dodorol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nereo Naelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 95 in the game by Vicente Gonzo from a close distance when the talented Gustavo Dodorol managed to make a qualified save. Arrutó's players were relieved. Alumni Fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
